The Champion Chronicle

Back when Champion was a booming metropolis, the town’s residents got their news from The Champion Chronicle. The first issue of The Champion Chronicle rolled off the presses in 1919, and every week for almost 30 years it kept Championites up to date on local happenings and international events.

The Chronicle featured stories of local people, events, and news.

February 5, 1931

It saw the town through the Great Depression and the Second World War, and reminds us how much these major events of the twentieth-century touched Champion’s residents.

It kept everyone updated on the international news too.

And of course, sprinkled throughout were advertisements for local businesses.

Reading through The Champion Chronicle gives us glimpses into what life was like for Champion residents of the past.

    I enjoyed your article, Lisa.

    I didn’t know that Champion’s paper was on that site. After visiting it now, I see there are some Arrowwood issues, too. None for the rest of the County towns, yet.

    Maybe in the future.

    I’ll look forward to any other articles that you do.
